Dear colleagues,
Six weeks ago, in Vienna, the ISSMGE Council entrusted me with the presidency of this Society, and I have thought of little else since. I write to you now for the first time as President, with enormous pride and no small sense of the scale of what lies ahead: 92 national societies with more than 21,000 members, six regions, one shared discipline holding up, quite literally, the ground beneath everything else we build.

In Memoriam Dr. Melvin England
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our esteemed colleague, Dr Melvin England, on 23 October 2025. Melvin dedicated 22 years of his career to Loadtest, and later as part of Fugro, most recently serving as Global Subject Matter Expert - Foundation Testing. His contribution to the industry and the geotechnical community was profound, marked by technical expertise, a passion for innovation, and a commitment to excellence.

Jan Maertens is een naam als een klok in de geotechnische wereld. Zowel in België als in Nederland en ook op internationaal niveau werd zijn inbreng gewaardeerd.
Eerste reeks ATG Funderingspalen gepubliceerd
Infosessie ATG Palen - Buildwise, 25/05/23, 16u-20u
Zoals eerder aangekondigd, wordt er i.s.m. BCCA, Buildwise, SECO en ABEF een infosessie georganiseerd op 25/05/2023 van 16 tot 20u bij Buildwise Zaventem om toelichting te geven bij het ATG-kader en de implicaties voor het ontwerp te verduidelijken, en dit vanuit het oogpunt van opdrachtgevers, studiebureaus, algemene aannemers en aannemers diepfunderingen.
BGGG-WTCB-ABEF: Workshop - Schade bij funderingen op kleigronden, Huis van de Bouw
De BGGG organiseerde recent 2 workshops rond de schade bij woningen en constructies die op kleigronden gefundeerd zijn.
